I had an hour of quiet time, so I sat down and thought about a couple of issues that I am facing. I have realized that my life is sculpted around my job. My job quietly dictates when I sleep, when I can go out of town, when I can go to church, when I can spend time with family, and etc. So as it stands my priorities has worked themselves like this.
- Work 68 out of 168 hours per week
- Sleep 42 out of 168 hours per week
- Business Planning/Computer Time 14 hours out of 168 hours per week
- Chruch and God Related Activities 7 hours out of 168 hours per week
- Miscellaneous 37 hours out of 168 hours per week
* Miscellaneous means household chores, communiting, extra hours of sleep, and work or church time.
This is not the way I want my priorities set. I choose to have God Related Activities – first. Family time – second, and Business building – third. This was not a super revelation, I have known that work was affecting my life in a lot of ways, well before now. I even did a financial journal of the period of November 2004 – Present charting the different valleys and peaks in my families finances since I began working at Wal Mart, although the situation has been going on since 2000 or 2001.
